In St John Ambulance, there's plenty of ways to volunteer and help.
We’re looking for enthusiastic and determined individuals to join the fundraising team to help us deliver fundraising activities. You could be involved with bucket collections, pin badge sales, and cheering on our amazing runners.
As a Youth Team volunteer, you'll be trained to provide our young people with both life skills and life saving skills, all while having fun!
You’ll be volunteering with Badgers (aged 7-10) or Cadets (aged 11-18). You’ll help to support them to care for others, gain new experiences, and learn important life skills, including first aid.
You’ll have the chance to design your own role. This could involve running fun activities, such as outdoor events, summer camps, or providing more ‘behind-the-scenes’ support.
You’ll also have the chance to learn first aid. As well as, the opportunity to become a Youth Leader with the support and guidance from a friendly volunteer manager.
Lifesaving equipment doesn’t move itself. Thanks to the support of our volunteer logistics team we are able to deliver the best care to our patients and ensure that our St John people have the best experience.
You can support logistics in a variety of different ways:
- transporting equipment to and from events
- building treatment centres at major events
- maintaining stocks of first aid supplies
- checking equipment
You’ll support communications at events by helping to set up, maintain, and operate radios, and other event communications equipment.
If you love meeting people, safeguarding could be a great role for you. You'll help make sure young people and vulnerable adults who volunteer with us are safe. You’ll do this by visiting our units, organising safeguarding training, and dealing with any causes for concern.
If you enjoy getting the best out of people, then a skilled support role in HR could be for you. We need human resources experts to support our managers. You’ll advise managers on recruitment, development, conduct, as well as supporting change initiatives.
